Yeah, that's right. I use the full-on pinguin pumping power of the GIMP on Linux, so you mac users can suck it long and suck it hard. I've heard that for real photoshop users the GIMP is not as good. I've never been a photoshop user, and I think that compared to the GIMP, photoshop is unwieldy and counter-intuitive. All flames regarding this issue will be redirected to /dev/null.
I don't use GIFs. (Well, except for the animated banner below. Didn't have much of a choice, and I use the libungif library, anyway. Once MNGs get supported by browsers, I'll switch to that.) Unisys owns the patent for the LZW compression that GIFs use, and I'd rather not help support their hoarding an internet standard. Use PNGs. They're better.
